Hello

Darisse served 7 years in the Army as a OH-58D "Kiowa Warrior" helicopter pilot. She was stationed at Ft. Drum, NY with the 10th Mountain Division, and served for 1 year in Irbil Iraq with the Korean Zaytun Division. Darisse has been a freelance journalist for over 10 years, and has written about mental health, veterans' issues, veteran stories, conspiracy theories, Jiu Jitsu, parenting--lots of things! She was featured as a stand-up comedian in the documentary "Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor."  She has two Bachelor's Degrees, one in English and one in Literary Journalism. She enjoys paddleboarding, Jiu Jitsu, snowboarding, swimming and lifting weights. She lives in Southern California with her husband, Jeff, and 12 year old son, Devin.
